Yardley Wood Pantry is currently looking for local volunteers for the following roles. The minimum weekly time commitment for each role is approximately 2.5 hours. Depending on the role, manual handling training will be provided and training costs for Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene will be covered. Volunteer training is planned to take place in September 2019.
Pantry Shop Assistant
As a Pantry Assistant you’ll be involved with welcoming customers into the shop as well as assisting them with their shopping. You’ll also be responsible for keeping the Pantry well stocked and presented at all times.
Pantry Stock Assistant
As Pantry Stock Assistant you will be responsible for arranging delivered food and other goods, ensuring that food is stored correctly and in accordance with the Pantry’s First In First Out (FIFO) policy. You will also assist with weekly stock checks and fridge/freezer temperature checks. Another key role is to ensure that the store room and all its equipment are kept safe, clean and tidy.
The Pantry Stock Assistant role requires manual handling of food and may require some heavy lifting.
Pantry Food Collection Driver
As Pantry Food Collection Driver you will be responsible for driving to a few different nearby locations to collect food for the Pantry at designated times.
Hospitality Team Member
To be part of a Hospitality Team that will welcome and build friendships with Pantry members.
